| Artist Statement: It was Heraclitus, the Greek who said, "The only thing constant is change itself." Until I was nineteen this concept meant little to me. Growing up in Tennessee the world seemed endlessly constant. Time stood still in a place where nobody left and the illusion of safety gently blinded me. As the world swirls by in its routine, I search for the beauty and meaning in the small changes. Things I would never have noticed or cared about when I was younger. I search for what happens between night and day, summer and winter, dew and mist. In the dim light or soft pooling water I search for something I can hold on too. Once in a while I find a photograph. |
